Some days, we're looking for good food without the fuss.
We'd like to just pick it up and go, or have a quick sit-down without waiting
for the check.
A small sign marks the spot for Vintage Cafe & City
Deli on Washington Ave. in Cedarburg. It can be easy to miss the cafe, in a
historical building with a brick and half-timber façade.
But that would be a shame; it's a charmer. Open the door
and descend a few stairs to the restaurant, which is outfitted with some comfy
furniture for lounging - maybe with a glass of wine from nearby Cedar Creek
Winery or a beer - and about a dozen tables for dining. But when the days are
warm, I make a beeline for the patio.
That's where a half-dozen tables surrounded by black-eyed Susan's, hydrangeas and other plants afford a view of Cedar Creek meandering by.
It's a relaxing, pleasant way to pass lunch.

order from the lineup of tasty sandwiches and salads, with a couple of daily
